Born high in the rocky mountains, Our distillery sits on top of Miners Mesa in the Artisans Point District of Black Hawk, Colorado at 8650 feet in elevation. Here we work day and night to craft spirits worthy of our incredible mountain location, using 100% Colorado grains and water from some of the highest peaks.

John H. Gregory first discovered gold in Black Hawk, CO in 1859. Dubbed “the richest square mile on earth,” this former mining camp became the home of Rick Thomas Distillery in 2023. Rick Thomas’ signature 1859 vodka takes advantage of the water from the eastern slope of James Peak at 13,294 feet in elevation.
